  We’ve come to Oaxaca with a plan to rent an apartment  and stay at least 3 months, but first we need to locate one. In the meantime, we've booked 3 nights in this place called Hotel One to give us time to search. After arriving at the airport we purchased a seat on one of the airport vans available for transport to the hotels. As we journey from the airport toward our lodging, we’re becoming increasingly concerned about the neighborhood. All the buildings look run down and are covered with graffiti.  The van is full of tourists who are getting dropped off at various locations throughout the city.
